New Track: Broken Promises – Dizzy Rambunctious

Last week, DIZZY RAMBUNCTIOUS had rocked up and slammed down one hell of a EDM banger entitled ‘Throwback’.

Now the urban producer brings on something completely different, forming a three-and-a-half-minute laid-back urban piece, ‘Broken Promises.’

New Music Video: Cerise Dream – Temple of Angels

Following the release of their sophomore EP, ‘Foiled’, and debut U.S. tour in 2018, which saw them sharing the stage with the likes of Iceage, Beach Fossils, Boy Harsher, and John Maus, Austin and Los Angeles-based post punk/dream pop band TEMPLE OF ANGELS are back with their first single of 2019.

‘Cerise Dream’ sees the band further explore a more melodic direction, perfect for those summer days. The single was released as a 7″ last Friday (14th June) along with the digital release through post-punk tastemakers Funeral Party Records.

In addition to the 7” release TEMPLE OF ANGELS unveiled the music video for ‘Cerise Dream’, directed and edited by vocalist Bre Morell in collaboration with Director of Photography, Erynn Patrick.

New Music Video: Deja Vu – Brit Daniels

Promising Nashville pop songstress BRIT DANIELS is back with the official music video for her latest hypnotic pop single, ‘Deja Vu.’ The single, which was released in late March, is brought to life in the somber new visual directed by Matteo Guastamacchio and starring Daniels herself.

‘Deja vu’ is defined as the feeling of having already experienced the present situation and in Daniels’ ‘Deja Vu’ music video that tedious familiarity is brought to life through reversing and repeating shots of the same things happening over and over again. It’s minimalistic yet powerful, bringing the mesmeric pop song to life.

Album Review: 2 Menace Drinking Juice Rolling Dice in Flatbush – Dice Cannon

So glad to see DICE CANNON (pictured right on the album’s cover art) bounce right back into the game after (what seems) years of lying low.

His comeback comes in the form of a 12-track set, ‘2 Menace Drinking Juice and Rolling Dice in Flatbush’, enlisting fellow spitters including Juice Cannon and Natty Boi Zoe, whose spoken word collection, ‘My Body, My Soul Vol.1’, was featured on the blog back in April and stole the blog’s Album of the Month title last month.

Taking us back to the golden hip-hop era (similar to KRS-One and Public Enemy No.1) through introductory track ‘Drinking Juice Rolling Dice’, the album goes on a journey of different variations of the genre, incorporating a real nice lick of old school R&B/soul, a modern spin on 70s soul/funk and a rather emotive piano-led/boom bap piece (through Bishop Vs Raheem).

When a rapper like DICE CANNON disappears from the scene for a while and returns with a confident swagger, well you know that he cooked up something beyond good.
