Peter Katz Promotes Self-Love With Brand New Single, ‘I Will Never Leave You’

When Canadian singer/songwriter PETER KATZ  first penned his single, ‘I Will Never Leave You’, alongside Grammy-Award winning writer and producer Rich Jacques, he thought it was for someone else. However, further along the process, it became very clear that the person he was writing for was himself.

Katz explains further of his new single: “Oftentimes the first person we sacrifice is ourselves, which ultimately means we can’t be of service to anybody. I’ve certainly been guilty of this at times. The whole writing experience had me so far out of my comfort zone that I felt like I wasn’t confined to any rules of what a Peter Katz song is supposed to sound like.”

Through ‘I Will Never Leave You’ Peter hopes to spread the lesson of self love to others. Have a listen below…

EP Review: Turns Out We Should have Stayed At Home – Lucky Iris

Consisting of vocalist Maeve Florsheim and instrumentalist Jasper Exley, electro pop duo LUCKY IRIS‘ EP, ‘Turns Out We Should Have Stayed At Home’, maybe a concept collection that promises a blinding night out that didn’t go to plan, but it’s far from a disappointment (sorry for giving the game away way too early!)

The ‘sparkyness’ of single, ‘Get Ready With Me’, kicks off the EP with its distinctive intermittent electronic flow that gives off a ‘bright eyed and bushy tail’ sensation. Changing the EP’s mood completely, comes the intimate setting of second effort, ‘Take 5 (Why Can’t You See Me)’ where the lone, melancholic piano keys along with Florsheim’s woeful vocal performance, which somewhat gives off a jazzy/bluesy vibe, mirrors the image of watching everyone enjoying themselves in which you don’t feel a part of.

Picking up the tempo is ‘Glitter Vision’ with its feathery soft four-on-the-floor pattern, leading to a jarringly delightful drive, which tells of the moment where you attempt to make a night of it. Concluding the EP is ‘I Fell Backwards’, another intimate, piano-led piece, which reflects on a disastrous night through Florsheim’s heartfelt vocals which gains strength and becomes soulful.

With ‘Turns Out We Should Have Stayed At Home’, the duo offers some solace to an experience that we all had in some point on our lives, through pleasantly experimental numbers and classic pieces that will be well received by a wider audience. Definitely worth a trial…have a listen below…

Charlie Trees Brings Positivity To The Forefront With Latest Single, ‘Smile Back’

Amidst the uncertainty and grief in these surreal times, CHARLIE TREES’ latest single, ‘Smile Back’ brings some much-needed light within all darkness. Following on from his first release of 2020, ‘Trees’, Charlie continues to reach his genre-defining sound to the masses.

Another collaboration with Yrk Rd and SludgeWizard, the laidback guitars and dreamy undertones takes us through a cosmic trip, as Charlie shows how to embrace the positivity he wants to see in the world. Alongside the single comes a film by No1, a music video, that fittingly demonstrates the happiness Charlie brings to those he cherishes.

The themes of the new single and its accompanied film showcase a different side to Charlie Trees, bringing positivity and love to the forefront. ‘Smile Back’ serves as a reminder to ignore the bad vibes, spend time with the ones we love and awaken our third-eye. The 4/20 loving, Grime-Bap MC uses his hallucinogenic experiences to create music that comes with a message, one that is more relevant now than ever.

Song of the Day: Love Potion – Jai Amore

Off the heels of his falsetto blazing single ‘Give Me You’, released earlier this year, North West Londoner JAI AMORE‘s latest single, ‘Love Potion’ is another intimate vocal performed on top of a classy guitar and string
arrangement, which embodies both new school and old school R&B with a hint of soul.

Speaking of his latest creation, Jai says: “I’ve tried to paint a musical landscape where you find yourself feeling the nostalgia of 90’s
RnB, the theatrics of opera, and the realness of a story that unfolds with each line. I think
there’s so much we still love and learn from the RnB we’re making in the UK, because we
have such unique stories to tell, and a unique way of telling them.”
