Ahead of her EP ‘Bird of Prey’, set for release later this year, South London rapper DANYA BLACK unveiled the brand new single entitled ‘Warning’.
Her latest offering possess a 808 heavy, trap-style track with a splash of rock guitars, that in part was influenced by the classic R&B Danya grew up listening to in her hometown.
The sultry emcee has been singing, rapping and performing since the age of 10. Despite having a fashion industry background after studying at the University of the Arts, she has always been a singer/songwriter at heart.
Danya’s EP ‘Bird of Prey’ is reflective of life as she knows it – she describes it as an introduction to herself as an artist and musically a taster of what’s to come.
KRITZ93, E.Mak and Sunny Kale – the producer behind Stormzy’s hit ‘100 Bags’ – cooked up a straight-talking banger entitled ‘Woah’. Taking a unapologetically raw street approach, this brand new hot collab is already tearing up the underground grime scene.
Gaining initial exposure from DJ Target, who cherry picked the record as his ‘Targo Embargo’ in early January, KRITZ93 took to the BBC Radio 1Xtra airwaves to introduce himself and his record to the nation and it has since been hot on the selection lists across Kiss Fresh, Radar Radio, Westside FM.
A newcomer to the game, KRITZ93 spent the entirety of 2017 recording and releasing music, freestyles and videos online, building a respectable stock of well-received and supported music. He was also found collaborating and featuring on a selection of tracks, which included ‘G’s Dem’ for DJ P Montana’s Rah Boy – Vol 1 mixtape. Teaming up with E. Mak on the record, who’s profile has recently soared from his release ‘Yo!’, the pair chopped it up over a hybrid of melodic genres and vowed to jump back in to the studio together quickly, resulting in the creation of ‘Woah’…check out the video.
Authenticity fuels Wolverhampton native ZEO ZEONARDO carved his name within the Midlands grime and rap scene. Constructing a unique flow that catapults with scattergun delivery, Zeo turns up the gears and enhances his previously seen capabilities on his latest release, ‘Wolverine 2’.
Detonating through the track at an accelerating speed, Zeo spits over an enchanting loop that echoes through the core of the song. The atmospheric ‘Wolverine 2’, which plays on the name of his hometown and acts as a metaphor for Zeo’s superpowers as an MC, is paired with cinematic visuals set in an isolated desert, courtesy of Kyle ‘Shox’ Brown.
With a steady growth of his fan base over recent years, Zeo’s work as a producer and rapper has been increasingly recognised within the scene. Having recently supported US hip hop artist Hopsin on his Savageville U.K tour alongside Token, he’s worked with established artists over the years such as JME (BBK), DJ Q (BBC Radio 1Xtra), Trilla, Bassboy and TRC. He has also had his music supported and played across local and national platforms, as well as being featured by the UK tastemakers including SBTV, GRM Daily and RWD mag.
Harbouring an eclectic sound that falls on the cusp of multiple genres, Zeo is renowned for his experimental production and flows and ‘Wolverine 2’ is a prime example.
Making one of the most notable returns of 2017 with the release of his first album in nearly ten years, IRONIK continues to elevate and spar alongside the new generation of UK sound creators with his new single ‘Watch Nuttin’ featuring Ayo Beatz.
Featuring twice on the ‘Truth Be Told’ album, providing both production and vocals on new party track ‘Watch Nuttin’, and again on the final track of the album ‘Mercy’, Ayo Beatz, who has recently gained over 1.6 million hit on his video for ‘Big Man Ting’, clearly has an undeniable chemistry in the studio with IRONIK, making them quite the dynamic duo.
The album received an exceptional response with heavy support across BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, the Capital network and Kiss FM all jumping on board, resulting in album streams of over 200k to date with still another four singles to come, adding to his lengthy list of previous achievements that include a number 5 official chart position, a top 5 single, one top 10 single, a top 10 album and over a million record sales. IRONIK has also received support from the likes of PAPER Mag and The Hype Magazine as well as GRM Daily and Link Up TV who recently interviewed him about the album and his return.
Talking on his album, IRONIK says: “Truth Be Told’ is only my second studio album since my first ‘No Point In Wasting Tears’ and it’s definitely my best work to date. I’ve been all over the world in the last two years DJ’ing in countries like Dubai, Japan and all over Europe and it’s undoubtedly inspired my music but there’s no place like home and whilst I reflect the influences I’ve had, the album remains a testament to being UK and homegrown.”

In the run up to the release of their EP, Vancouver duo HUMANS have dropped the video to their single, ‘Sip It’.
For their latest offering, the indie electro producers started a contest on SKIO, which gave their fans the opportunity to remix ‘Sip It’. The contest concluded with over 250 submissions.
This is not the first time the HUMANS have pushed the boundaries when it comes to dropping their releases: The trippy dance visuals for‘Boys & Girls’translates the band’s 2D animations into an interactive 3D space and the VR for‘The Feels’puts the viewer directly into a space of unease, prodding them forward, as the track builds to a nightmarish warehouse rave.
‘The Feels’ EP, which includes the aforementioned singles, is set for release this Friday (26th January via their label, Haven Sounds.
