Watch Dax’s Video For Retrospective Track , ‘PTSD’

Canadian rapper and TikTok star DAX has unleashed his new video for his song ‘PTSD,’ a song and video the 28-year-old called “20+ years in the making.”

The visual has already struck a chord with audiences, hitting over 480K views on YouTube in three days since going live.

The song sees the St. John’s native, who grew up in Ottawa, recounting a traumatizing moment in his life while also showing compassion for others who may have faced similar situations. Dax is introspective on the track, opting to sing his verses instead of bluntly rapping like he’s done on his past songs and albums.

‘PTSD’ follows Dax’s trend of touching on difficult subject matters, attempting to make it easier for his listeners to find solace in the fact that so many other people face the same problems they are going through.

“This one is inspired by real life events,” Dax says. “I’m praying it reaches those who need it.”

Over the pandemic, Dax’s popularity skyrocketed with his Youtube channel quickly approaching 5 million subscribers and his Instagram followers hitting 1.4 million followers. He also passed the 6 million follower mark on Tik Tok.

Dax’s video for his track ‘Depression’ totalled 6.4 million views in just over two months. His other tracks like the ‘Dear Alcohol’ remix and ‘Searching For A Reason’ have both accumulated over 4 million views.

Now it’s time to check out the gripping video for ‘PTSD’ below…

Song of the Day: Make Sense – Eleanor

London, Ontario based singer-songwriter ELEANOR‘s debut single, ‘Make Sense,’ showcases her R&B sound, which is inflected with soul and alternative/indie influences.

Eleanor wrote ‘Make Sense’ as a bit of a lament for the experiences of her generation, impacted by inflation, recessions, and quarantine.

The song is a conversation between Eleanor and her mother, reflecting on the frustration that comes with not reaching certain milestones ‘on time,’ such as marriage and home ownership.

The rich and dreamy soul of this single provides a reminder that sour moments can be both timely and useful. It’s definitely worth a listen; check it out below…

Song of the Day: Thinkin’ Bout U – JSJ

JSJ (Joshua Säde James) is an emerging Canadian artist who incorporates self-worth and love within his music, with the message that “you are worthy, you are loved, and you are imperfectly you.”

Just because you’re thinking about them does not mean they’re ‘Thinkin Bout U.’ That’s what JSJ learned in penning a love letter to a long distance relationship that only existed through FaceTime and ultimately didn’t last. Craving intimacy, he explores the push and pull between feeling lonely versus feeling completely alone.

JSJ has worked his way from coast to coast in Canada and is now traveling along the Baltic performing all over Northern Europe with Norwegian Cruise Lines. After declaring never again, the hopeless romantic is six months into a new relationship, 6000 miles apart. Have a listen ‘Thinkin Bout U’ below…
