Asiahn Delivers Sultry Track, ‘Fall Back’

ASIAHN turns up the heat on her sultry new single, ‘Fall Back,’ , an age-old tale of falling too hard and too fast.

Remarkably, the R&B singer/songwriter wrote ‘Fall Back’ in about 15 minutes alongside producer Dreek Beatz. “The story behind the song is, well, true,” she laughs. “I know we’ve all been in a situation where we’re trying to get to know someone casually. Then, of course, she falls in love anyways. It’s a song telling that person to ‘fall back, you doing too much.’ Let’s just get to know each other and see if getting serious is even something we want to do.”

‘Fall Back’ continues the Los Angeles-based artist’s transition from lovesick songstress to empowered star, as showcased on her Motown debut, ‘The Interlude EP’, released earlier this year. The EP debuted on multiple Billboard charts and earned Asiahn Billboard’s Emerging Artist Spotlight, started at #33 on Apple Music Charts, and received support from fans and critics like Halle Berry, Lena Waithe, and Keke Palmer, to American Songwriter, Essence, Nylon, Refinery29 and MarieClaire.

Asiahn will also be playing the title character in the upcoming Netflix animated series, Karma’s World, created by Ludacris. The show tells “the story of a girl finding her voice and using it to change the world.” Sounds like the ideal role for this 3x-Grammy-nominated talent who continues her steady rise, which includes being named Pandora’s Artist to Watch 2021, participating in Live Nation’s Black History Month, and Tidal Sessions performances.

‘Fall Back’ was released yesterday (24th September) via Since the 80s / Motown Records… Why not check it out below…

Song of the Day: The Ugly Song – Jordan Hollywood

Florida rapper, singer, producer, and hitmaking CEO JORDAN HOLLYWOOD‘s single, ‘The Ugly Song,’ is one hell of a speaker-rattling joint. Featuring Timbaland, ‘The Ugly Song’ serves up as the lead single from his upcoming album, ‘Only the Paranoid Survive’.

“It’s crazy how 20 years ago how I enjoyed this song as kid and now it’s part of my legacy. It’s one thing to get a Timbaland beat or to get him to clear a sample but it’s special when the legend himself steps in the booth with you and adds his touches to your vison,” says Jordan Hollywood. “I never in a million years thought I’d get to work with the hitmaker. With the video I told the director ‘I want this shit to feel like an open world video game where I have freedom to randomly do things my way.’ “The Ugly Song” is just the start.”

An homage to Bubba Sparxxx’s Timbaland-produced single “Ugly,” “The Ugly Song” is a banging reinterpretation that flips the early 2000s classic for a new generation. The instrumental deftly chops Timbaland’s Bollywood-influenced melodies and pairs them with quaking drums and trap percussion. Offering both his blessing and his vocals, Timbaland delivers his signature ad-libs (“ficky ficky”), while Hollywood effortlessly glides over the beat.

The video, directed by Austin McCracken and filmed in Los Angeles, makes liberal use of visual effects (and openly nods to that at the end), dropping Hollywood into a wheat field accompanied by a horse who eventually kicks him in the head. The rapper continues to get knocked into or out of various colorful scenarios. Both the video and the song break from expectation, showing that Hollywood is willing to challenge himself, share a laugh, and execute a variety of vibes.

‘The Ugly Song’ is Hollywood’s first release since 2019’s “Testament,” wherein he recounted the hurdles and hurt he’s endured on his rise. Check out the epic video for the single below…

Malachiii Shares Reflective New Single ‘Love Me’ + Video

Rising singer, rapper, songwriter and producer MALACHIII opens his heart with the release of ‘Love Me’,” his debut single with Motown Records. On the track, the 25-year-old Southern California artist asks the burning questions that arise when you’re coming of age and falling in love. The first verse subtly draws listeners inward with lo-fi trap vibes and Malachiii’s softly delivered bars, building momentum before his voice starts to soar. The chorus gets vulnerable as he declares that he doesn’t want a partner’s adoration just to feed his ego—he needs love and support to ease his mind.

“Everything about this song feels so timely and full-circle. In a literal sense, it represents need to have someone that will take me as I am and love me unconditionally through this rollercoaster that is my life,” says Malachiii, “Symbolically, it represents the new journey ahead and all of the unknowns that come with “launching” my career as an artist and sharing my art with the world in the ways that I’ve always dreamed of.”

This new song marks a transitional moment in Malachiii’s life and career. Although ‘Love Me’ isn’t his first solo single—he dropped the brash rap cut ‘WYM?!’ last September—it’s a bold step forward in terms of both artistic maturity and scale. It’s his first release on Motown, hallowed ground for truly emotional songwriters. This follows him signing a publishing deal with Electric Feel. But now, with the release of ‘Love Me,’ Malachiii is demonstrating what’s truly special about his own music, showing the world his truest self, and preparing for his songs to start resonating around the world.

JUNO Award nominated R&B artist Emanuel shares new single ‘Worldwide’ + Lyric Video

Canadian R&B phenom EMANUEL‘s latest single ‘Worldwide’ captures a time when dreams were still dreams – before his music was streamed millions of times around the globe and his talent was admired by fans and critics alike.

Created in his producer/collaborator Bedroom’s basement, Emanuel recalls that the lyrics “floated up to the surface” as ‘Worldwide’ spontaneously took shape: “During that time, we were really dreaming out loud in the way that we would talk about our futures and in the way that we were trying to summon this grand reality. This song was really born from the deep want to take the music to the world.” Years later, ‘Worldwide’ has morphed from a manifestation mantra into a song of celebration and a prayer for the future.

“This past year has been a great learning experience for what it means to really manifest something and be appreciative of the things you’ve been able to uncover and draw from within yourself and make reality,” says Emanuel. “But even though we’ve manifested certain aspects of the song – and that’s a beautiful thing – it still wants to be seen out in its fullness. ‘Worldwide’ is a song of affirmation and it’s become a prayer to be able to continue until all of those goals are met in their completion.”

The dream to connect with people in the cities and countries he sings about is still very real for Emanuel since the pandemic has prevented him from bringing his music to stages around the world. “It’s wild to me how prophetic music can be. I’m still imagining going to those places, smelling the air, performing in front of crowds, and being able to truly live out what the song is talking about: to be able to take the message, the energy we bring, the light we’ve been blessed with; to be able to share that while also being open to receiving wisdom and exporting that back so we can enrich the places we’re in. That beautiful exchange, that’s the heart of it.”

Mixed by Gary Noble (Amy Winehouse, Nas, Public Enemy), “Worldwide” is the final glimpse into ALT THERAPY, Emanuel’s inaugural full-length project, before the album makes its eagerly anticipated debut on June 16th.

Earlier this Spring, Emanuel was honoured with his first JUNO Award nomination. His critically acclaimed debut EP Session 1: Disillusion has been nominated for Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year which will be awarded at the 50th Annual JUNO Awards this June.

New Track: Take You Home – Angel

Following a string of sold-out headline shows earlier this year and the launch of his ‘More of HER’ playlist which featured tracks such as ‘Hi Grade’ ft Protoje, ‘Road Closed’, ‘Crud’ and ‘No Days Off’, the dynamic UK R&B singer ANGEL continues his unstoppable ascent with the release of his new single ‘Take You Home’, the first track to be taken from his forthcoming album ‘WOMAN’.

Paying homage to iconic 90s R&B and hip-hop jams including Foxy Brown ft Blackstreet – ‘Get Me Home’ and SWV’s ‘I’m So Into You’, ANGEL once again drops his signature mix of addictive throwback influences combined with his distinctive, soulful vocals and unparalleled songwriting and production talents on the new track –  the perfect introduction to his highly anticipated full length project which is expected next year.

Last year ANGEL released the massively popular ‘HER’ EP which has amassed over 3 million combined streams and featured the Harmony Samuels produced ‘Fvxk With You’ that saw west London meeting America’s ‘dirty south’, delivered courtesy of an explosive 16 bars from Atlanta, Georgia’s Rich Homie Quan and made a huge splash across both sides of the Atlantic.

Signed in the US by Motown records VP, Ezekiel Lewis (also responsible for forming the group The Clutch who have gone on to write and produce hits for Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Neyo and more), alongside Island Records, ANGEL continues to reinforce his position as one of the UK’s hottest R&B talents…. so it goes without saying that the new album is going to rock both sides of the shore, making 2018 and beyond his for the taking….
