ASHS Drops New Track ‘My Ex’

Over the past few years, Juno award nominated/multi-platinum selling artist Alyssa Reid – aka ASHS – has been honing her craft; becoming the go-to songwriter for artists like Bülow (‘Not A Love Song’) and Virginia to Vegas (‘Selfish’). Now the 26-year-old is recasting her signature smoky vocals to form the foundation of her most ambitious project to date.

Her bouncing new single, ‘My Ex’, goes a bumpy journey of getting over a lover. For most people time heals heartbreak, but ASHS finds solace in songwriting, where she concludes that life goes on just fine after heartache. Have a listen below…

Selci Shows Her Humorously Dark Side Through New Single, ‘For You’

Calgary alt-pop act SELCI dishes up another transcendent single, ‘For You,’ from her forthcoming EP, ‘A Soft Place’, out next Tuesday (28th July). Her brand new cut is a confessional song about unreciprocated love.

With a series of strange and dramatic looks, the accompanied video offers more of Selci’s signature surrealist vision. Lyrically, Selci turns a series of heartbreaking moments into a darkly humorous reflection on modern dating, calling herself out for her part in past rejections.

“It’s about wanting something to go my way and not being able to have it…romantically speaking,” Selci says, with a laugh. “At first, when I was writing the song, I was poking fun at myself for trying so hard to get someone to like me, even after getting rejected. After a while, the writing process ended up very emotionally charged! Thinking back to the poor communication with past lovers and how sometimes I felt taken advantage of got me pretty fired up. This track became a reminder to myself on how not to act with my future lovers.”

Noa Opens Up About Love With Latest Single, ‘Patience’

Sporting a colourful yet edgy vibe, NOA‘s latest single, ‘Patience’ is probably her most honest work to date…the song is an introduction to the Canadian singer/songwriter and her relationship to love.

Noa explains: “I grew up with divorced parents, which didn’t give me the most ideal picture of love. With “Patience,” I dove deep into where my reservations with relationships lie, and the difficulty I had with letting my guard down; which I know is something many of us share.”

Noa also produced ‘Patience’ as an anthem for anyone opening up to love and learning to have the courage to be vulnerable. Check it out below…
