Sizzy Rocket Is ‘That Bitch’ In Brand New Single

Seamlessly fusing bombastic punk-inspired riffs with electro-pop melodies, SIZZY ROCKET‘s new single, ‘That Bitch’ is the ultimate self-empowerment record.

Speaking of her latest release, Sizzy says: “’THAT BITCH’ is about owning yourself – even the crazy, messy, wild, emotional parts that might be ‘too much’ for people, even when you feel insane and down and alone. It’s about being unapologetic in the process of figuring out who you are and pummeling through anyone and anything that gets in your way. I hope it becomes the song you put on when you want to feel confident and sexy and dance in your mirror and let it all out and scream at the fucking world – because you’re THAT BITCH and you can be whoever the fuck you want to be!”

In 2016, Sizzy released her official debut album ‘THRILLS’. The album’s lead single, “Bestie,” became a viral sensation, receiving praise from the likes of New York Magazine, PAPER, and BUSTLE. With a whole new swarm of fans, Sizzy quickly dropped a surprise mixtape titled ‘Hot Summer’ in 2017. Her sophomore album, ‘GRRRL’, was released in Summer 2019 and was supported with a self-booked sold out US tour with buzzy newcomer chloe mk as support. To close out the year, Sizzy & chloe mk released a two song EP titled ‘I KNOW WHAT U LIKE’.

Now It’s time to check out Sizzy’s first release of the year…

Fifi Rong Reveals Single, ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’

Inspired by Wong Kar-Wai’s romantic film, ‘Mood For Love’, FIFI RONG’s self-produced single, ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ is a three-part production which takes on a different dimension to Valentine’s Day (watch the videos here). Narrated by the Chinese-British singer/songwriter’s delicate and well-poised vocal performance, ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ tells a story of an unrequited love story.

With distinctive blends of popular Western music (Avant-garde pop and hazy electronica) and Chinese influences, the first release of the year gives a taste of her upcoming album, slated for release later in the year.

2019 was a great year for Fifi as she became the fifth artist to be signed globally by W Records– a new music initiative from the iconic W Hotels – and recorded singles, ‘Farewell to Cambridge’ and ‘Way Out’, debuted at W Xi’an and W Shanghai (The Bund) as a part of her most successful China tour to date.

This year will see the bilingual songstress working on more interesting and quirky material for her forthcoming album. After working with the likes of Tricky, Phaeleh, Yello and Skepta, Fifi also set her sights on collaborating with more big names as well as planning a tour in the UK and China (dates to be announced on her website.)

Gaining firm support from the likes of The Clash, Fader Magazine, Pigeon and Planes, BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music, Fifi’s intricately intimate setting of ‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ could do no harm but push her further into the limelight…

‘Love Is A Lonely Thing’ is out today on all reputable music platforms. Check out the video for single’s Trilogy below…

Selci Shares Surreal Anti-Valentine’s Day Video for Single ‘Strangers’ Today

Calgary alt-pop artist SELCI unveils her new video for ‘Strangers’ – an anti-Valentine’s Day track about a love that’s faded and gone – off her debut ‘Effervescence EP’. The single recalls a run-in with an ex-lover, and the painful realisation that after knowing someone so intimately, you hardly know them at all.

The video is framed around the deterioration of a relationship, juxtaposing Selci’s own memories in a surreal, subconscious world. A series of hazy vignettes spiral through memory, romance, dissociation and the loss of self. Blending high-definition and 8 mm film, home video and stop motion animation, analog textures are used to imply nostalgia and the timeless nature of broken relationships, while flickers of animation enhance the surrealist vibe.

“As the video progresses, I become cloaked in layers of fabric,” says Selci. “Happy memories are overcome by recollections of anger and violence, and I become engulfed by tulle. As the intensity increases, the boundary between reality and the subconscious world is blurred. This veiling is meant to signify the loss of self in a relationship. It mirrors the sensation of distance from the self and the distance from a lover as the relationship falls apart.”

Romysa Drops Debut Solo Single, ‘Missin Out’

With unique vocals described as ‘candy-coated pop’ with an undeniable edge of R&B,  ROMYSA slammed down her brand new pop single, ‘Missin Out’  last Friday (7th February).

The Amsterdam upcoming urban songstress’ musical background has been very niche, having previously released records in the Electronic Dance Music Scene, which led her to work with dance heavyweights like DJ Afrojack. Since then Romysa has been travelling around the world to collaborate with various renowned DJ’s. Last year, Romysa decided to focus on her solo music career which brought her to a new team that believed in pushing her project internationally. Since then Los Angeles has pretty much become her second home, as she develops her artistry in the city of angels. Her new musical offerings pay homage to her EDM musical grounding but also delivers across the pop and RnB spectrum, and more, to produce a whole new fresh sound. She says herself her new sound is “a kind of rhythmic pop that explores the genres of modern R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop”

The latest release is her first single as a solo artist. She says of her debut offering: “’Missin Out’ is a type of record you’d play to boost your self-esteem while moving on from a break-up. It has a catchy melodic vibe and sing-able chorus to it. It’s pretty much a song about all the f**k boys that missed out on me!”

It’s very clear that no one messes with Romysa! Check out the video for single below…
