Song of the Day: Trust In You – V’Nessa

Her debut single ‘Helpless’ produced by ENZ Sounds amassed over 170,000 views on YouTube and over 68,000 streams on Spotify with no mainstream push, and now 17 year old V’NESSA returns with another stunning single ’Trust In You’. Centered around mistrust, she opens up a three minute dialogue addressing the struggles young people face during the course of a relationship.

Born in Italy, but raised in South London this exceptional young woman grew up as one of five siblings with a passion for singing and remembers practising every day to perfect her craft. V’Nessa’s ability to sing, write and produce her own music inspired her to study at BCE college where she has been able to enhance her knowledge of music and skills. A prolific songwriter, V’Nessa pens mesmerising R&B songs about lost love, broken trust and youthful ambitions sitting somewhere between Rihanna, Jhene Aiko and Summer Walker with a distinctly London vibe.

Look out for her debut EP dropping this Summer. For now, check out the official video for the single below…

Watch Chiae’s Striking Visuals For Track ‘Cash Out’

Atlanta’s R&B singer CHIAE (formerly known as Malachiae) returns with a lush and lavish new single, ‘Cash Out,” out today on Motown. The swirling instrumental produced by T-Minus (Drake, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd) is smooth yet vibrant, setting the tone for Chiae’s tales of romantic encounters in the lap of luxury.

This new single follows a string of sensitive and colorful tracks from the vocalist. In 2020, he released ‘Bedroom to the Club,’ a luxe R&B song full of light-hearted come-ons, and ‘Get to the Bag,’ a money-minded cut about providing for the one he loves. These tracks follow four years of EPs, singles, and steadily building buzz for one of R&B’s rising stars. Though Chiae’s just getting started, he’s already had huge success working with fellow Atlanta superstars Migos, playing a lead role in the movie Million Dollar Quartet, and securing national radio and TV plays on channels like BET Jams.

Last year, Chiae played TRILLERFEST, one of the largest virtual music festivals, alongside Migos, Mario, Pitbull, Marshmello, G Herbo, and many more to help raise money for those affected by COVID-19.

Song of the Day: Sad Girls Club – I M U R

I M U R creates genre-bending make-out music, weaving alt-R&B and avant-pop into undeniably catchy songs that fit just outside the box. Composed of singer/songwriter Jenny Lea, producer/guitarist Mikey J Blige, and producer/multi-instrumentalist Amine Bouzaher, I M U R’s sound is a cinematic blend of smooth and sultry, tussled together with texture and bounce. Their lyrics tell a story of self-reflection, strength in vulnerability, and the courage to tackle taboo subjects like addiction/recovery and female sexuality.

Taken from the trio’s forthcoming album, ‘My Molecules’, new single, ‘Sad Girls Club,’ is about the trickery our subconscious mind plays on us when we’re feeling low. It’s about self-deprecation, unworthiness, and being burdensome.

Theo Tams Shares His Most Personal Work To Date, ‘Quit U Love’

When THEO TAMS wrote single ‘Quit U Love’, he was at the height of his alcohol addiction.

He said about his experience: “Drinking constantly, I reached a moment of clarity where I started to see my addiction for what it was – an abusive relationship that I just didn’t know how to leave.

The next morning, I woke up early, packed my laptop and microphone, then walked to a lookout point on a hill where you can see for miles. I chose to record the demo at this spot – a place where I could see into the distance – because so many areas of my life felt like they had come to a standstill.

‘Quit U Love’ is taken from Theo’s EP, ‘Trilogy II’, a collection of songs that are each unapologetically him.
