London’s most exciting and talented young rappers, 19 year old 5EB drops his first video for track ‘Silento’ since the release of his highly acclaimed ‘Yin & Yang’. With this latest drop, 5EB is stepping up his game to deliver one of the most bouncy and exciting summer vibes of the year.

The single sees 5EB in his element, rapping over a self produced, intoxicating saxophone infused beat, delivering his trademark wavy style. His matter of fact and mature-for-his-age lyricism has seen him develop a strong and devout cult fan base – a true testament of his talent. The track comes accompanied by a visual from emerging director and close friend Movie Making Mitch.

Speaking on ‘Silento’, 5EB states “Silento is a reflection of young people’s lives, specifically through a Londoners view”.

Having only begun to take music seriously at the age of 15, 5EB has since gone on to collaborate with the likes of One Acen on ‘Scum’ which received a big reception from the UK rap scene, as well as feature on Mixtape Madness’s ‘Next Up’ freestyle series, being named on Dummy Mag’s Top 10 Under 18s and opening proceedings on the impressive BL@CKBOX 2021 U18 Cypher, now sitting at 2 million views. 5EB has continued to see comparisons to the likes of Knucks and Sam Wise, with his music making him ever increasingly prolific in London’s rap scene.

Cassie Marin Releases Single ‘Gemini’ Ahead Of Album ‘Lil 5i5’ – Out 12th August.

Los Angeles-based vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist CASSIE MARIN shares her new single, ‘Gemini,’ taken from her much-anticipated album, Lil 5i5, out on 12th August.

Pairing emotive melodies, atmospheric production and tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Cassie delivers pure synth-pop magic on “Gemini.” Cassie elaborates on the meaning behind the track: “I’ve always had the tendency to look at things from both sides — it’s comes with the positive of not being quick to judge, but when it pertains to analyzing my characters, it can create a confusing and inescapable duality that becomes, at times, overwhelming. The song sees me tackling one side of myself with humor and the other side of myself with passion. One side feels deserving of the good things that come to me while the other side feels stuck in an unwanted habit of self-sabotage. It’s a bit of a mood swing of a song that I feel many can relate to. Ultimately, it’s about acknowledging the partitioned soul, the partitioned mind, and attempting to fuse them against the forces that repel them.”

Constantly exploring new musical and visual dimensions, Cassie Marin has emerged as an avant-garde luminary in the left-of-center pop space. Her upcoming album, ‘Lil 5i5’, which will be out on 12th August, is a dynamic 19-track album that shows off Cassie ever-evolving musicality. Pairing the rhythms of dance music with emotive melodies and meaningful lyricism, ‘Lil 5i5’ sees Cassie at her strongest and most vulnerable yet.

Song of the Day: Who Don’t Love Me – Skripture

SKRIPTURE is a modern renaissance man of sorts: morphing his artistry at will — actively switching between emceeing, singing and beat-making. Embodying all of his signature traits in one tight-knit package — the West London rhymer has returned with his long-awaited grime-laced gem ‘Who Don’t Love Me’.

Slated as the lead single from the rapper’s upcoming album ‘One Accord’, ‘Who Don’t Love Me’ is constructed with Black Belt-adjacent lyrical acrobatics throughout. Skripture’s wordplay is boundless as ever on ‘Who Don’t Love Me’ — and it’s only getting better with time.

Residing in a realm between trap, drill and grime, Skripture unleashes a melody-driven refrain before the track erupts into a cavalcade of molten bars: effortlessly complemented by the skippy, self-produced instrumental.

Outside of being an active rapper, vocalist and producer: Skripture is a one-man studio, regularly mixing, mastering his own tunes and penning tracks for other artists.

Skripture was a founding member of the collective The Truth Movement. The group had the likes of Michael Kiwanuka, Prgrshn & Dornik as active members of the crew. The Truth Movement both produced tracks and performed as a live band, supporting many throughout the UK scene.

Additionally, the rapper was also a member of the trans-Atlantic urban rock group The Score. The Score boasted members including GRAMMY Award-winning producer Taylor Graves [Thundercat, Kimbra] and his brother Cameron Graves [Kamasi Washington, Jada Pinkett]. They recorded material with starts like will.i.am and a laundry list of other household names.

As a solo beatmaker, Skripture has produced records for Bashy, Tinchy Stryder, Dappy and many more. Skripture has also had a considerable amount of sync success with his music used by brands and networks such as Adidas, F1, MTV, CNN and Netflix.

With a steady influx of singles released throughout 2022, Skripture is showing no signs of slowing down. His latest body of work, ‘One Accord’, is shaping up to be the crystallisation of his work ethic — and ‘Who Don’t Love Me’ is just the beginning. Check him out below…
