Song of the Day: Write Pages – Wish Master

WISH MASTER‘s single ‘Write Pages’, takes things to a Dickensian level, as the viewer is presented with a snapshot into the Bristol emcee’s past, present and future.

With a concept reminiscent of the classic novel A Christmas Carol, you hear Wish’s depth and artistry in his lyricism, which has helped support his rise in prominence over the past few years.

Supported with a life journeying video showing his progression from a boy to a man, Wish Master flows poetically over a flute-laden head-nodder produced by Van Dam. ‘Write Pages’ delivers a wholesome and uplifting message around being ‘the author of his own life’.

Filmed in part at the world famous university in his home town of Bristol, the Patch Up productions-directed video paints a vivid picture of Wish recreating some of the most memorable stages in his life. From a child to teenager to his present state and even a flash forward to Wish in a stately setting.

Released to coincide with Black History Month, this song ‘Write Pages’ aims to show how dedication is needed to reach your goals, inspiring others to see how anything is possible if you focus and put your mind to it!

Song of the Day: Problem, Reaction, Solution – Fliptrix

2020 is a year that will go down in the history books… but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

Throughout his new single ‘Problem, Reaction, Solution’ FLIPTRIX touches on this and tackles the world’s current situation head-on. With a no holds barred viewpoint, he spits his thoughts on what we’ve been going through, the way it’s been handled and expresses his concerns for the future.

Produced by one of the scenes most respected producers, Illinformed lays down a contrasting buoyant baseline against an uptempo beat.

‘Problem, Reaction, Solution’ is taken from album, ‘Light Work’, out now on Fliptrix’s label, High Focus Records. The 16-track project – which is a representation of him as both an artist as well as reflecting the person behind the artistry – pays homage to his fallen friend and legendary London graffiti artist ‘POW’ through track ‘Powerizm’. ‘Light Work’ also features Fliptrix’s recently released single, ‘Holy Kush’ which clocked over 100k views on Youtube in a week and conveys a message about overcoming the fear of death and persevering with the work he has put into the scene.

Song of the Day: Justin Bieber – Smoke Boys (ft. Dizzee Rascal)

The most prolific, innovative and defining British acts of the past ten years sadly announced the news that their forthcoming project “All The Smoke” due 23rd October will be their last.

After Dizzee dropped track ‘Act Like You Know’ the Smoke Boys single off of his forthcoming album ‘E3AF’, SMOKE BOYS have now announced their new single ‘Justin Bieber’ featuring the Grime legend off of their new and last ever project. With the whole EP produced by MK The Plug, this track combines both the strength of drill & grime for a futuristic style beat, track and video.

Their lyrical energies ride with ease over the vibrant production, with it’s skippy drums, garage-esque vocals, big 808’s and metallic eastern samples, with Dizzee Rascal gliding in for the final verse on top form, adding his charm, charismatic delivery and effortless flows. Smoke Boys and Dizzee Rascal have both shown how two genres can fit so fluidly and gracefully together.

Although this will be their last project as a group, there will be more to follow from Deepee, Swift, Sleeks, Littlez, Inch, and Knine as solo artists, and their last project together promises to end with a bang.
