Song of the Day: Break Up With Her – Raria

Melbourne-based musician RARIA showcases her vibrant pop sound and knack for storytelling through latest single, Break Up With Her.

Co-written and produced by Rory Noble (Kanye West, Twice As Nice, Jupiter Project), ‘Break Up With Her’ is an infectious slice of guitar-driven pop music. Dealing with the emotional whirlwind of seeing an ex-partner move on with someone new, RARIA’s glistening vocal melodies soar over the track’s bouncing melody, injecting a playfully bold attitude into her unique brand of pop music.

Following the release of her debut single, ‘Will You Tell Your Girlfriend’, RARIA (formally known as Rachel Costanzo) is already leading a new wave of nostalgia-driven, eclectic pop. Redefining the genre and making music “to be remembered”, the up-and-coming star is ready to make a dynamic and lasting impact.

Song of the Day: No Show – Amy Lilley

South African singer-songwriter, chef, queer activist and venue owner AMY LILLEY is the exciting new talent set to take the music world by storm. Releasing her debut single ‘Formidable’ in July, which amassed an impressive 250,000+ streams in just over a month, Amy Lilley follows up with single, ‘No Show’, out now on Platoon.

Highlighting Amy’s versatility and passionate approach to creating breath-taking soundscapes, with its mesmeric, R&B undertones, coupled with her confident and powerful, yet tender lyricism, ‘No Show’ was a perfect taster for her debut EP ‘She’.

Out now on Platoon, the five-track EP, encapsulates the journey back to her strongest sense of self, which is abundantly evident in the debut single ‘Formidable’ – a track that juxtaposes hope and hardship in the face of depression, self-sabotage, pain and prejudice.

Song of the Day: U Gd? – L E M F R E C K

South Wales native L E M F R E C K continues to carry the torch for his hometown, by delivering his single ‘U Gd?’

‘U Gd?’ finds the rapper treading a percussion-led backbeat uplifted by an overarching guitar riff. He sets the tone for the track ahead, then proceeds to inflect the steady instrumental with his slightly accented bars that he delivers with great confidence and caution.

Reflecting the lyrical inspiration behind the track; which complies a number of references from a turbulent romance to the daily grind, the music video for single shows L E M F R E C K roaming the streets at night, getting up to no good.

Growing up, he was heavily inspired by the exciting buzz and growth of UK urban scene. After the realisation of the vast under-representation of his country within the genre he decided to take matters into his own hand. Fuelled by the disparity he began to build on the musical foundations built while producing in a local church, where his father was the pastor.

Eager to explore and experience the scene first hand, the rapper remembers frequenting cities like Bristol and London to soak up the Pirate Radio culture. Now a fully formed producer, the artist takes on a new skill… the art of wordplay. Watch out for the L E M F R E C K, he has a lot more to deliver this year….

Song of the Day: My Bad – Tame Kyel (ft. Ta’Shan)

After a year of unrest and breaking barriers society has built up for hundreds of years, TAME KYEL dives head first into chaos and shows how he can not only lyrically impress but also showcase his vocal ability in his single, ‘My Bad’.

The first release under his own label, The Boat Records, ‘My Bad’ features Ta’Shan the Swiss-Indian singer also known as Bombay Mami. Both artists have been working together behind the scenes for many years crafting hit singles such as ‘This Time’, ‘This Time’ Remix ft Konshens and ‘High’ so a collaboration as artists is well overdue.

‘My Bad’ shows Tame maturing musically, in his own words – ‘Right now the world feels separated, emotion is something that unifies us and makes us human. Even though the message may feel sad and sombre the song is presented in a way that allows people to sing and dance together’.

Tame Kyel will continue creating music behind the board as a writer as well as showing the world how diverse he can be as an artist…check out the single below…
