Following the release of their genre-bending debut single ‘Goodnightmare’ back in May,
Victoria (Canada) based R&B duo FAKE FAKE return with their sophomore release
‘Pretty Black Balloons’.
A darker contrast to the energetic romp of their debut, ‘Pretty Black Balloons’ introduces the tender, more cinematic side of the duo’s songwriting. With a track length of just 2 minutes and 22 seconds, producer Charlotte Hynds and vocalist Justin Campbell leave no pause and let nothing repeat, prompting listeners to revisit each second on their own terms.
Hailing from Manchester, brothers Paul and Mark Hinks – aka indie rock outfit, SOME KIND OF ILLNESS – latest album, ‘Beautiful Sin’, could be described as smooth as a Sunday morning with a tranquil introduction through instrumentals ‘Within A Shadow’ and ‘Ghost’ with the latter featuring a slight sinister spin on the album’s theme.
Third offering ‘A Moment In Time’, first offers a full set of vocals, that’s so smoothing, to the equally smooth and inmate setting. ‘A Lament Reprise’ adds another dimension to the album with its slight electronic drive to the production, uplifting a bed of atmospheric soundscapes similar to what’s offered in the previous productions. ‘Beautiful Sin’ also interrupts the album’s soothing vibe with the distorted and racing guitar riffs breaking through the production, giving off a feather-light and (perhaps 60’s-inspired) Americana feel.
The album concludes with ‘7 Days’, which ventures into a more sinister side of indie rock, with guest vocalist Jenny Jen shedding some light and sweetness to the whole arrangement.
Through their fourth album, SOME KIND OF ILLNESS has effortlessly combine two worlds – indie and rock music – in a way that’s accessible to those who aren’t massive fans of the aforementioned genres. Have a listen to ‘Beautiful Sin’ below:
Released via LT Records, ‘Bring It All Back’ is the latest single from LEANNE TENNANT and is the second track off the forthcoming album.

With an instantly identifiable sonic distinctiveness and creations that are all outstandingly astute, intuitive and insightful deconstructions of the human character, its intrinsic flaws and universally felt internal struggles through elegantly woven notes and narratives, seamlessly stitched together, it is little wonder as to why TAMARAEBI recently landed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV.
In the throws of releasing a collection of brand new music for the ‘Heavens Gate’ EP, TAMARAEBI gifts the first single of the same name. Instantly alluring and enigmatic, the record swells in to a powerful, emotionally charged offering, marked by his remarkable vocal range and agility. His tender, velvety voice, which has echoes of The Weeknd, DVSN and Miguel, sit in beautiful cohesion with the infectious instrumental, something that characterises his memorable tracks throughout his ever-growing repertoire.
Nigerian-born,TAMARAEBI has a rich tapestry of influence and experience. His parents’ work for the United Nations meant a nomadic upbringing with Nigeria, Nairobi, India and Sudan being places he had the opportunity to call home during different points of his childhood and undoubtedly shaped both the compelling and astute character he has become and helped to prepare him for his music career. He has since gone on to be scouted by Tinie Tempah on Instagram, resulting in his publishing deal, as well as performing at Wembley Arena supporting Jonas Blue in 2017 and selling out his debut headline show at The Waiting Room in London earlier this year
With a strong promise of longevity, TAMARAEBI is shaping up to be tomorrow’s torchbearer within the realm of Soul and RnB music, elevating the genres with his own inimitable iterations and delivering us to ‘Heavens Gate’ with this timeless anthem.
Available now on all digital streaming platforms, ‘Feels’ is the second single from Dominican-American rapper MRG‘s forthcoming debut album, ‘Live From The Hurst 2’. Featuring guest vocalist Rio Nilo, the song finds MRG expressing his fear of being vulnerable with a love interest, over a LOUD-produced backdrop with EDM and trap overtones.
“The track is about a woman who got me in my “Feels”. I had mixed signals from her at first so I didn’t want to express how I felt because of my pride… I was scared of getting rejected but I kept it solid and said how i really felt… I want listeners to understand that being scared to be open and vulnerable with a person is a common feeling in many relationships. I finally understood being vulnerable can be an act of courage and can bring people closer together. By being authentic to your feelings you can also inspire your significant other to do the same.” – MRG
