New Track: Miss You (Under Shimokita Sky) – Garden City Movement

Tel-Aviv based trio GARDEN CITY MOVEMENT release their new single ‘Miss You (Under Shimokita Sky)’ – a dreamy electronic number released via Late Night Stories.

Mixing an eclectic blend of sounds and styles, ‘Miss You (Under Shimokita Sky)’ is a masterful indie dance anthem. Utilising a combination of dream-like vocals and languid electronic beats, the trio’s masterful production and lyricism touches on the significance of passing time, relationships and loneliness in the modern world.

GARDEN CITY MOVEMENT (Johnny Sharoni, Roy Avital and Yoav Saar) broke through at the end of 2013 with the launch of their debut single ‘Move On’. After the successful release of multiple EPs and stand-alone tracks, the band’s popularity skyrocketed, recording live sessions for Boiler Room, Majestic Casual and FACT, as well as opening sets for Bonobo, Caribou and alt-J.

This year now sees the artistic collective embark on their first tour of Japan and Tawain – exploring the cultures and climates that inspired the track’s release…have a listen below:

New Track: Creator Made An Animal – Snotty Nose Rez Kids (ft. Boslen)

Featuring rapper Boslen, SNOTTY NOSE REZ KIDS‘ latest joint, ‘Creator Made An Animal’, carries an aggressive and assertive energy that imitates the way society portrays Indigenous people and people of colour across Turtle Island.

As a latest edition of the Indigenous ancestry, the Canadian hip-hop duo stated they are often regarded as the pissed-off generation who haven’t gotten over what colonisation has done to their lands and people.

Through their boisterous yet slick delivery, they’re letting the world know that they are here to stay and they are NOT changing for anyone!  Their latest track serves as a teaser for their album, ‘TRAPLINE’, set for release next month.

Song of the Day: Coming At Me – NUTTY P X SKRIPTURE

As one of the most prolific producers in UK urban music for the last 15 years, there is no doubt that NUTTY P’s distinctive sound has helped to shape the scene’s celebrated success of today.

His work, which has been influenced by hip-hop, rap, R&B and electronic music, has been responsible for hits from some of the most famed UK artists including Wretch 32, Krept & Konan, Professor Green, Ghetts and Sway, whilst his productions under the moniker Stinkahbell add further kudos to his talents in the form of remixes for Skepta, Jodie Connor, Busta Rhymes, Maverick Sabre, Taio Cruz and Cover Drive.

Working in the lab concocting his next array of revolutionary music, NUTTY P has once again been putting his wizardry to practise, this time completing his forthcoming album ‘Infrared’. The 8-track album is set to drop this Friday (29th March) and features a serious line-up of artists including the fiery Lady Lykez as well as SNE, Youngs Teflon, Paigey Cakey and Skripture for announcement record ‘Coming At Me’. Whilst yet to be released, the tracks have already built up some serious support and have been snapped up by the likes of Tottenham Hotspurs (to reveal Delle Alli’s new contract extension), England (to announce them qualifying for the Nations League), Chelsea FC (for their pre-match build up with Tottenham), Manchester United (for their pre-match Champions League build up), Adidas (advert), Soccer AM (showboat), Puma (advert) and even BBC1’s Silent Witness.

Alongside the announcement of the album release, NUTTY P treats us to the first instalment of fresh music in the form of ‘Coming At Me’ featuring Skripture, which was premiered with DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra and added straight onto the huge ‘Grime Shutdown’ playlist at Spotify. Delivering an old skool R&G beat alongside the West London emcee who handles the hook and spits with galloping momentum over the verses, the track comes as a tasty warm up to the forthcoming energetic and ballsy single ‘Who The Hell’ featuring Lady Lykez.

With a ravenous drive that keeps him constantly creating innovative music, placing him consistently in the thick of the scene, Nutty P announces ‘Infrared’ – 8 tracks of genuine, dynamic, spirited and undiluted UK sounds that are being called for right now.

EP Review: Brand New – Liam Bailey

I know it’s unorthodox to conclude an album at the beginning of the review, but I’m gonna do it anyway: if there’s a statement to sum up LIAM BAILEY‘s project, ‘Brand New’, it would be profoundly stunning.

From the atmospherically revitalising pieces, ‘Brand New’ and ‘I Lost My Way’ to a modern spin on old school soul/gospel delight, ‘Hold Tight’ and the guitar-drenched ‘Come Clean’, Bailey effortlessly delivers his compelling vocals, that’s so powerfully soulful which uplifts every single arrangement in the collection.

There’s talent and then there’s REAL TALENT; LIAM BAILEY definitely sits comfortably in the latter category. This guy is not to be messed with – check him out below:

New Track: Mini Van (Da Baby Remix) – A1

Usually, A1 is the smooth operator of underground hip-hop –  but this time, the NYC spitter put some serious grit and heat on DaBaby’s x Blocboy JB’s banger entitled ‘Mini Van’.
