Song of the Day: Pretty Boy – Grace Sorensen

Hailing from Texas 19-year-old R&B artist GRACE SORENSEN comes through onto today’s top spot with an incredibly strong offering titled, ‘PRETTY BOY’. Immediately infectious after the first listen, the single oozes a soothing downtempo production by BLK ODYSSY, perfectly coupled with Grace’s silky smooth vocals, infectious melodies and striking lyricism.

Speaking on the release, Grace says, “‘PRETTY BOY’ was written out of disappointment of my taste in men and giving too many chances to the same type of boys and expecting different treatment.”

Grace only made her arrival on the music scene in 2020 but it’s been an upward trajectory ever since with a string of high-quality R&B releases that have made it clear that she is a star with a huge future ahead. Lifted from the rising artist’s debut EP, WHAT I NEVER TOLD YOU, which is out now, ‘PRETTY BOY’ is another stellar entry into her growing discography and arrives alongside equally impressive visuals directed by Daniel Castillo. Song of the Day: Walk With Me – Black Shawd

Multi-talented rapper/singer & songwriter BLACK SHAWD‘s single, ‘Walk With Me’ is a reflection of his cheerful and optimistic attitude towards life.

The lyrics along with the vocals is enough to give a tingle of goose bumps. The contrasts in mood are very well handled. This exciting hip hop song stimulates the generation to sit and think about life and then to take a stand and to contribute in meaningful deeds.

Black Shawd, in this energetic single, beautifully conveys the true significance of practical life, far from the world of fantasy. The appealing sound is really a blessing to the ears. This piece is an excellent composition with a catchy track. For Black Shawd, life has a purpose and in ‘Walk With Me’, he is giving direction to the world to take little steps with him towards morality.

The lyrics are really therapeutic as “Trust it won’t be long, it’s not that far” gives the vibes of comfort. The choice of words is so natural and friendly as “see we are not that far”. The cherry on the top is that the song also has fear reducing elements as “What are you afraid of” and “See we are not that far”. In simple words, ‘Walk With Me’ paints a portrait of life that becomes easy by following some simple rules.

Flowerless Unveils New Single, ‘LAB’

FLOWERLESS is the alter ego of Nightwell lead singer and frontman, Jason Emsallem. The project delves into emotional alt-pop with nods to the Toronto underground hip hop sound.

With abstract vocal manipulation paired with luscious walls of harmonies, Flowerless aims to be as dynamic as the pop punk scene he grew up with while paying homage to the buttery RnB sound he fell in love with along the way.

His latest release, ‘LAB,’ reflects on the end of a relationship which taught Flowerless that he is, in fact, an “emotional bitch.”

Two years ago, he was in a relationship that wasn’t committed and about to express deeper feelings to the woman he was with, when she slept with her ex. “Even though she said it was trash and she didn’t want to go back to him, the damage had been done and I wasn’t able to get past it to really continue things,” explains Flowerless.

‘LAB (Life’s a Bitch)’ is the result of Flowerless turning this fucked up thing into something beautiful. Have a listen below…
