Alt-pop Provocateur Tyra Jutai Unveils Video For Single, ‘Frida’

Toronto singer, songwriter, producer and all-round creative TYRA JUTAI is making some of the most compelling alternative pop music right now as is evident on her brand new conceptual EP, ‘You Weren’t A Muse’, which is inspired by Golden Age Hollywood actress, singer and sex symbol Mae West and her classic 1933 movie, I’m No Angel. Taken from the six-track EP, Jutai presents the cinematic music video for early favourite ‘Frida’.

Written and produced by Tyra Jutai and award-winning Montreal producer John Nathaniel (Gwen Stefani, OneRepublic, Kygo), with the accompanying visuals conceptualised by Jutai and burgeoning creative director Piper Ellis, ‘Frida’ is an exquisite slow-burning gloomy pop offering driven by ominous marching drums and string arrangements, which sees Jutai unfolding a gripping tale of betrayal, jealousy and ultimate revenge between lovers and best friends that is underpinned by her captivating songwriting and resounding vocals.

Chin Injeti is ‘Golden’ with New Single Featuring Thieves Like Us

CHIN INJETI continues to heal and uplift through the power of music with his latest single ‘Golden.’

Co-written with producer/writer Brian West and featuring on going collaborators Thieves Like Us, ‘Golden’ delivers a touching message of self-forgiveness and redemption.

“I’ve come to know so many people that are in deep depression, that have been abused when they were younger, that for some crazy ass reason carry a lot of blame with them,” says the multi-Grammy and Juno Award-winning artist.

More than simply recognizing those who struggle with these heavy burdens, ‘Golden’ is a modern hymn of hopefulness. “This is a message to tell those people that there is a good place, a safe place, a place of peace, a place where they can start over again,” explains Injeti. “There’s no reason to carry this weight because the truth is we never get rid of our demons. We just need to learn to live above them.”

‘Golden’ follows Chin’s self-love anthem, ‘For The Love Of Life’, featuring Vancouver rapper Teon Gibbs. Check out the music video for the latest therapeutic single below

Sia Shells Releases Brand New Single, ‘3%’

Regularly touching on everyday magic found through relationships, self love, reflection and dreams, delivered with her emotive, contralto vocals, Toronto-based singer songwriter, SIA SHELLS shares her latest single, ‘3%,’ released yesterday – 19th May.

As the past year has resulted in no other means of really communicating with our friends and loved ones than from a distance, the moody, self reflective and intimate track highlights the all too common feeling of phone separation anxiety.

‘3%,’ follows her empowering, you-got-this anthem, ‘Magic Girl,’ released earlier this year. Check out Sia’s latest release below…

Breana Marin Drops Infectious Track, ‘Work’

Pop/R&B artist BREANA MARIN‘s new single ‘Work,’ tells a moving story of the hardships that relationships go through while deciding if it’s a journey they want to continue.

“It’s about being in a relationship long past the honeymoon stage,” says Marin. “The point we reach where each person’s true colors are revealed, and deciding if you’re going to put the effort in to make it work.”

While the song’s context deals with a weighty emotional subject, it’s juxtaposed with R&B and pop influences mixed with a hint of island vibes to keep the tone light-hearted and fun. The lively melodies and beats paired with her lustrous vocals create a compelling dynamic that ties each element of the song together.

Breana Marin is a connoisseur when it comes to making hooks. Raised on Sade, Michael Jackson, and Prince, she honed her skills as a teen in the backseat of her parent’s car, singing lyrics to songs on the radio – and standing in front of the TV taking note of Michael Jackson videos. At 13, she began writing her own music, but it wasn’t until college where she began to find her stride. She’s taken the internet by storm from licensing hip-hop hooks to indie artists and is one of the top-performing vocalists and songwriters on the Beatstars platform, where her hooks have brought in incredible sales and racked up millions of views on YouTube. Marin is most known for her velvety smooth vocals influenced heavily by Sade and Imogen Heap. The songwriter’s impressive resume includes Fifth Harmony, Keyshia Cole, Phora, Brandy, and Letoya Luckett. Marin’s also had music featured in television shows on various networks like Starz, OWN, and Showtime.
