Sunny Achille reflect on habit and addiction in ‘Obsession’

Brighton-based SUNNY ACHILLE signs out 2019 with the release of single ‘Obsession’

Produced by Kai-A, ‘Obsession’ is about habit and addiction. Sunny explains: “It’s something we can all relate to in some form. We can often break a promise to ourselves and find ourselves escaping in a toxic way. Down the rabbit hole we go with our Obsession!”

Sunny grew up on his mother’s music collection ranging from Jazzmatazz, Lighthouse Family & Seal – to Coolio and The Streets – which led to have a diverse musical palette of his own. Blending trap with dubstep like synths, Achille combines his hard-hitting lyricism with left-field hip-hop elements throughout ‘Obsession’.

‘Obsession’ is out now on all major download/streaming sites. Stay tuned for the official music video in the coming weeks….

Album Review: Age Of Conviction – Tunnel Traffic

Adam Hachey – aka TUNNEL TRAFFIC – gave a sneak preview into his album, ‘Age Of Conviction’ last month through singles, ‘Skip’, ‘I’ll Be Sorry’ and ‘Another Story’.

Now out, the 11-track project, continues on the theme from the three mentioned tracks, with roaring guitar riffs running throughout, giving each track on the collection a 90’s grunge/nostalgic feel.Tunnel Traffic teams up with vocalist and long-time collaborator, Jacky Muñoz, who offers balance to each singles by adding a degree of tenderness against the hell-raising, well executed plucks.

So if you’re a fan of 90s Iconic rock bands like Nirvana, well Tunnel Traffic’s ‘Age Of Conviction’ may very well hit the spot.

Song of the Day: Better Together – Mauritia

Vibrant alt-pop northerners MAURITIA‘s sixth release of the year, ‘Better Together’ is a charmingly playful love song with all the flavours of an indie classic. It’s the perfect blend of catchy melodies, big vocal hooks, soaring instrumentals, and some crunchy synths thrown in for good measure.

Drawing influence from the likes of Coin, Two Door Cinema Club and Foals, the Hull band have quickly forged their own style and glow with likability.

To celebrate the latest single and see the year out with a huge bang, MAURITIA headlined The Polar Bear, Hull last month, with support from Jumanji and The Avenues.

July Jones Reveals New Single, ‘Switch It Off’

Currently in studio sessions with Girli and writing for Nasty Cherry, JULY JONES can now reveal her latest release, ‘Switch It Off’ out now.

The British-Slovene artist has also announced that she’ll be supporting GIRLI at her ‘Don’t call me a Ho Ho Ho Xmas Extravaganza’ at The Post Bar, London, this Sunday (15th December).

Speaking on the release, July says: “The single is about waking up from a one-night-stand and constantly thinking about the person you were with the night before. This is exactly what happened to my boyfriend and I, I became obsessed with fantasying about him to the point I couldn’t switch it (my mind) off.”

As a champion of all things LGBTQ+ and a fiercely independent artist with a rebellious streak, July aims to empower young women through her music and has talked openly about mental health issues in the past. Her previous single ‘Liar Liar’ saw tastemaker support from the likes of Notion, Gay Times & Hunger Magazine. July will also appear in the forthcoming Noctis Magaazine print edition.

With previous support shows for the likes of Shakka, Professor Green & Rita Ora – not forgetting performances at The Great Escape, Leeds, London, Manchester & Helsinki Pride – July Jones continues to step into her own space as a songwriter, singer, style influencer and sought after live performer.

Harina brings joy and awareness in her festive offering, ‘Last Christmas’

German singer-songwriter HARINA left her dentistry studies in 2016, in order to move to London and become an artist. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at BIMM London and soon after was signed to Universal sub-label, Polydor with her duo project Zazoo.

The duo’s first Single ‘Spinnin’ Round’ was released in November 2018 and generated over 300k plays across all platforms, including numerous radio plays. Due to health reasons, the duo was unfortunately unable to continue performing together within the industry. Since then, HARINA has been focusing on her Solo Project and has put together a catalogue of songs ready to be released in 2020.

Her sound is current, edgy and poppy with smooth, sweet vocals carrying catchy melodies. As a teaser of what’s to come, she is released her single, ‘Last Christmas’ on Friday (6th December). A quirky, fun, trap Christmas song, that if you listen carefully, is importantly raising awareness of the risks of Climate Crisis and the impact it can have on the environment. A pop song with substance and an imperative message which this artist shares in a clever and unique way.
