Following her powerful debut in 2020, independent Melbourne based Alt/RnB singer/songwriter KAIYA, returns, baring her soul. Kaiya captivated the hearts of many around the world with her debut single ‘Introspect’, a song written and recorded in lock down to boost the collective morale. Introspect showcased Kaiya’s wisdom and vulnerability, as well as her catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics. The visual accompaniment brought Introspect to new heights as we watched Kaiya levitate and dance at dusk. In early 2021 Kaiya released a follow up lock down single titled Love which explored the polarities of our human lives, love and fear. Love came at a time when the world needed it most and continues to serve as a voice toward building happier communities.
Her latest single release ‘Don’t Hold Back’ goes on a journey of chasing an emotionally unavailable lover and the transmutation of its subsequent pain, into power. It explores the awakening of self worth through self abandonment and inspires listeners to reflect on their relationship attachments. As part of the release, Kaiya partnered with “The Attachment Project”, an internationally renowned online platform full of resources to heal our unique misunderstandings of love.
Speaking of her single, Kiaya says: “‘Don’t Hold Back’ journeys through my healing of 26 years of unreliable relationships and the effects that had on me in my adulthood. If you feel like you’re attracting the same type of person into your life, maybe it’s time to gently start asking why. More often than not we’re used to re-experiencing our trauma through our relationships and I believe with some work, we can have a whole lot better than that.”

Currently preparing her debut EP, Australian born and bred Pop/RnB artist, BELORA dishes up her debut single and the lead single from the EP, ‘Dear X’, a vibrant, groovy, R&B ode to that someone who is special in your life. It is about longing for someone or something, but that love was unrequited. The use of ‘X’ in the title evokes a sense of mystery and hope whilst enabling the listener to interpret the song and relate it to their own experiences.
Aiming to captivate the world with her delicate tone to create a distinctive sound all can relate to, the soulful newcomer is inspired by the groovy tunes of the Motown legends & sultry themes of Contemporary R&B such as Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.
Belora is hoping to establish a firm fanbase, by building a meaningful connection with people with her emotive storytelling. ‘Dear X’ is a great introduction to what this artist is capable of and I have a feeling that her EP would be an absolute delight!
‘Dear X’ was released on Friday (19th November) on all digital music platforms. Check it out below…
After the release of the highly successful singles ‘Ways’ and ‘Wasted Times’, YOUNG PASCAL has fulfilled the promise for an epic follow-up with his latest single ‘City Lights’, this time teaming up with fellow Perth artist Perry P and New Zealand based Kid Rey.
‘City Lights’ is the young artist’s fifth single to date, and is a true extension of his fusion of conscious rap lyrics and a melodic vocal performance which is reminiscent of the in-demand melodic rap movement making waves across the globe.
Even with vocal presets, Young Pascal brings in a certain dark rawness to set the tone for the record. Kid Rey, then Perry P, follow respectively with their feature verses, this time tapping into moody vocals in their own styles, rounding out the overall song.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, Young Pascal says: “City lights is all about getting lost in the sauce and losing yourself to chasing that temporary kick of happiness in life which happens to more and more people nowadays and an example is clout-chasing. People are so infatuated with their likes or follower count to feel like they are worthy, they’re getting blinded by the lights!”
